Feature-Length Production

As a Supervising Producer on Blaze and the Monster Machines I was entrusted to lead production on two pre-school feature-length Super Specials. These specials were uniquely challenging — using the same resources as two regular-season episodes, I worked to optimize our budgets and schedules to create final pieces that felt and looked theatrical despite having a smaller spend.

Creatively, the ambitious design needs of these Specials challenged me to push the boundaries of typical show style to create something unique and elevated. In our first special Videogame Land, we designed five brand new environments which all needed to feel distinct yet share enough visual language to feel like they are part of the same videogame-based universe. Every new character, set and prop was meticulously researched and designed to reflect the story needs and cinematic aspirations of the special.

In our second Special, Christmas Power, I directed the implementation of a brand new lighting approach and pipeline. This large-scale production change was a logistical challenge and required constant communication between teams as we overhauled our old processes in favor of applying a more sophisticated and cinematic lighting design throughout the Special.
